Nationals, From Montreal to Washington

How would you feel if you are among the lowest in standings? In almost half a century since their inception, the Montreal Expos has never appeared in a World Series. This is because they have never won a National League pennant. While the Yankees are counting their World Series titles, the Expos are still hoping to win the National League championship.

They are one of the four teams in the Major League Baseball who have not been in the World Series. However, this does not mean that the team never experienced glory since their formation. In fact, they won their only Division title in 1981. They also had good seasons in the early 1990s. However, everything changed after the strike of the baseball players in 1994. Expos experienced several losses in terms of valuable players, support, and finances.

The year 2004 was the last season of the Expos in Montreal. Before the 2005 series began, the team moved to Washington. When they moved there,

Watch the College World Series Online

All the great college post-season action begins Saturday, June 19 and I intend to watch the College World Series online this year. And, you could, too.

The College World Series (CWS) began in 1947 crowing the nation’s top collegiate championship team. It has been held every year since 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska and is under contract to remain there until 2035. Therefore, you can count on seeing all the great college baseball played in America’s heartland for some time. Plus, if you grab a hold of this stupendous software I found, you’ll gain a great deal for your investment since the series runs from June 19 to either June 29 or 30 when a national champion will be crowned.

You can easily download the software that is just as easy to install and operate on your computer. There is a version for both a PC and a Mac so everyone will benefit from its use. Once installed on your computer, your entry ticket to all the fabulous college play is a

Giants, Their World Series Story

The Giants have their championship titles to be proud of. They won the World Series five times. They also have 20 National League titles. Finally, they have won the NL West Division six times.

They were one of the major league baseball teams that John B. Day and Jim Mutrie formed. The team goes by the name, the Gothams at first. It is a team under the National League. Day and Mutrie had another baseball team but in a different league. They also owned the Metropolitans, which is a team in the American Association.

The two started bringing their star players from the Metropolitans to the Gothams. This strategy brought the Gothams to win their first NL title in 1888. They did it again in 1889, only this time, they also manage to win the early version of the World Series.

Rumor has it that the team name changed to the Giants after Mutrie exclaimed the word in excitement as a compliment to his team who has beaten the

The Allstate Sugar Bowl

The Allstate Sugar Bowl

As the Big Easy gets ready to host the yearly New Years party known as the Allstate Sugar Bowl, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Utah Utes prepare for battle. The 12-1 Tide, SEC runner-up,a  goes up against the Mountain West Conference’s 12-0 Utah Utes on January 2nd 2009. Can the speed of Utah stack up against the size and strength of the Elephants from Tuscaloosa?  Let’s do a little comparison

The Alabama Crimson Tide.

Lead by Nick Saban, named the AP coach of the year, turned a team that lacked confidence and consistency the previous year, into a powerhouse that rolled through the regular season schedule starting with the annihilation of Clemson and finished with payback to its cross state rival of the Auburn Tigers, along the way there were few revenge games against Mississippi State and LSU. The only stumble was a lost to the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship Game.

Alabama’s offensive line

College Football Ball Week 13 Odds

The 13th week of the 2009 College Football Season is littered with interesting games all week starting on Wednesday.

One of the great in-state rivalries in football takes place this week when Florida hosts Florida State at 3:30PM ET on Saturday. Florida is a 23-point favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook . The Gators have won five straight in this series and this is the regular season finale for both teams. A win for Florida means it will enter the SEC Championship game against Alabama unbeaten.

Speaking of the Crimson Tide, they will travel to Auburn for a 2:30PM ET kickoff on Friday. Alabama is a 12-point favorite heading into the game. Alabama ended a six-game losing streak to Auburn in last year’s 36-0 drubbing of the Tigers. Auburn has won the last three meetings at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Big East has an intriguing matchup Friday at 7PM ET when Pittsburgh faces West Virginia at Mountaineer Field. The Panthers are

Real Estate In Louisiana: Baton Rouge Is A Great Place To Live

Buying real estate in Baton Rouge is a great decision; the town offers some of the best features and amenities of any city in Louisiana. It has a population of about 220,000 people and it is located about 80 miles northwest of New Orleans. It is also the capital of state and home to all the state government buildings as well as the state’s largest university, LSU. Buying into the real estate market in this city allows you a chance at life in fast-paced, historic southern city. A realtor could help you find a good estate in the city.

The Neighbors

Because Baton Rouge is the capital city, it is full of young, single professionals. The town’s median age is only about 30 years old and only 36 percent of the total population are married. The inhabitants are also fairly well educated with about half having completed some college. However the city gained more children and senior citizens after the nearby 2005 Hurricane Katrina disaster, as people

Abbott and Costello Visit the Ncaa Football Ranks

Don’t you just love this time of year? Wait a minute… This isn’t the usual autumn Saturday in the NCAA ranks. The leftover unbeatens are now dropping from the top 5 as the 6-10 make their push in this merry-go-round with the pollers.

I believe we can determine now that it’s going to be a miracle to see anything over 1 undefeated team from major conferences. So now comes the speculation on who’s going to be there when the time comes to set the bowls, and better yet, who’s coming out on top of this poll?

Just to give you a quick glimpse of my own top 5 (I am a UGA fan, but no bias here)..

#5 USC – Back to their old defensive ways in a 28-0 rout of a major disappointment in an Arizona State team that was supposed to give the Pac-10 teams a run for their money. The 1-loss teams are now beginning to seep into the top 5 as the Trojans get back into title talks.

#4 Florida – After dismantling the LSU Tigers by 30, they are back on their feet

Watch the NCAA College Baseball Regionals Online

If you are a fan of America’s favorite pastime, then you need to watch the NCAA Baseball Regionals online this year. College towns throughout the country are set to host regional play June 4 through June 7, the first step toward the College World Series. There are 16 sites for this year’s NCAA D1 Regional Tournaments. Just like the famed NCAA Basketball Tournament commonly referred to as “March Madness,” 64 collegiate teams will qualify for regional play. Eventually, the national field is dwindled down to eight teams that meet for the College World Series, beginning June 129 at the Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, NE.

Will your favorite team be in the hunt? I’ll watch all the action from the comfort of a seat in front of my computer since I discovered this wonderful software that gains me access to view all the diamond action right over the Internet. You can, too, if you grab a hold of the software. It is easy to download from the Internet.

College Football – in Just Two Years Nick Saban Has the Crimson Tide No. 1 in the Nation

Goodbye Texas. Hello Alabama. It is now the Crimson Tide that have become the No. 1 coveted target in the nation for big-time college football programs in America.

The Texas Longhorns, who were No. 1, took on their 4th top-ranked team in consecutive weeks and came up short on the road Saturday (11-1-08) in Lubbock to No. 6 Texas Tech 39-33 on a scoring play that never should have happened with 1 second left.

In a Texas-style shootout, the Longhorns trailed 19-0 and rallied to take a 33-32 lead on Vondrell McGee’s 4-yard touchdown run with only 1:29 to play. That gave just a little too much time left for the Red Raiders’ Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree, two gifted athletes on a mission few others would dare to take.

With virtually no time left and 28 yards from pay dirt, Harrell found himself surrounded by nasty Longhorns and out of time with Crabtree in double coverage and no room to even

Not Being Selected Among the Top 25 in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll Is the Kiss of Death

It is three weeks to the kick-off of the 2009 college football season, the preseason USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ Poll is out, my favorite team is not among the top 25 teams, and has no chance to play in the national championship game. Say, what?

“No way, dude,” as Garth (Dana Carvey) would say to Wayne (Mike Myers) in Saturday Night Live episodes and in the movie Wayne’s World.

“Way,” Wayne would reply, meaning, in this case, that any team that is not ranked in the preseason Coaches’ Poll could play in the national championship game at the end of the season if it played a perfect season.

The only problem is, no team ever has. Alabama almost became the first team to do it last year, being unranked and winning its first 12 games to climb to the top of the BCS standings for 5 weeks before losing to Florida 31-20 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) championship game.

The Crimson Tide did not handle their first loss
